It's amazing how many of the DVDs we get from Netflix are damaged. I've even missed important plot elements in some movies.

It seems recently about half the DVDs we get from Netflix are damaged. Sometimes the movie pauses and if you wait it will resume (though you’ve missed stuff). Other times the movie is unplayable. The most irritating was when I watching “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” - one of the main characters dies and I didn’t get to see what happened. Thing was I was able to see most of the movie and I didn’t want to have to wait a few days to get another copy to see the few minutes that I missed…

What really gets me is the e-mail you get from Netflix when you report a problem:

We go to great lengths to ensure the movies you get will play without any problems but occasionally a few get through our inspections, or are damaged in transit.

Guys, honestly… “a few” - half is not “a few”. Sure, there was only one that was so bad we had to ask them to send another copy, but they have serious problems with the quality of their DVDs…

Personally, I’m seriously thinking of switching to Blockbuster. I don’t like the fact that they censor the movies they send out, but I’m just about ready to give them a try.

Netflix - get your act together or you’re going to start losing customers…
